HAVANA: The Cuban overseas minister threatened on Wednesday to take authorized motion towards Fb, alleging that the social media community ignored teams making an attempt to control public opinion on the island.
Bruno Rodriguez stated that the digital platform hosted teams of individuals residing outdoors Cuba, particularly within the US, who altered algorithms and geotags to simulate their giant presence in Cuba to affect opinions and destabilize the Cuban society.
“As has already occurred in different components of the world, Fb could be sued for these practices towards Cuba in strict adherence to the legislation,” Rodriguez instructed overseas diplomats accredited to Havana.
The minister accused the US-based social media firm of fostering an environment of hatred, discrimination and racial intolerance that undermined the Caribbean island’s proper for self-determination.
