PILIBHIT: Ten pilgrims, together with two kids, died after their automobile overturned and fell right into a roadside ditch in Gajraula space right here Thursday morning, police mentioned.
Seven folks have been injured within the incident, they mentioned.
The automobile was carrying 17 pilgrims from Haridwar and was heading in direction of Lakhimpur Kheri district in Uttar Pradesh when it met with the accident on the Lucknow freeway at round 4 am. It appears the driving force dozed off and misplaced management over the automobile, police mentioned.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the lack of lives and directed the officers to make sure correct aid and rescue work.
In accordance with police, eight folks died on the spot, whereas two others succumbed to accidents within the hospital.
“Round 17 folks have been travelling within the automobile. The lifeless embrace three kids, three ladies and 4 males, together with the driving force,” Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Amitabh Rai mentioned.
He mentioned three of the injured have been referred from the district hospital to Bareilly.
The deceased have been recognized as Laxmi (28), Rachna (28), Sarla Devi (60), Hersh (16), Khushi (2), Sushant (14), Anand (3), Lalman (65), Shyamsundar (55) and driver Dilshad (35), police mentioned.
